Project Location-Kenya

Project Name: Passing the Batton

Building on the success of Passing the Baton Season 1, which garnered significant stakeholder support, FEMInspire expands to include young women with innovative ideas. By mapping and connecting these emerging leaders with trailblazers, the project will create a strategic mentorship network, fostering intergenerational collaboration and strengthening the feminist movement in Kenya.

FEMInspire aims to strengthen the feminist movement in Kenya through a cross-generational initiative that builds on the successes of the Passing the Baton program. The project fosters mentorship, intergenerational dialogue, and collective action by connecting young feminists with retired trailblazing women to sustain feminist gains, preserve milestones, and expand inclusive feminist spaces.

    • Intergenerational Dialogue:
      • Establish structured mentorship spaces through events like the Feminine and Firebrands Convening and Gladiators Mentorship Congress.
      • Facilitate one-on-one and collective mentorship to promote cross-learning between young feminists and seasoned women leaders.
    •
    • Preserving Feminist Milestones:
      • Develop the Trail-Blazers Depository Unit and HERSTORY Hive to document and celebrate the contributions of trailblazing women.
      • Produce HERSTORY Books and inter-generational podcasts to preserve stories and achievements for future generations.
      •
    • Strengthening Collective Feminist Action:
      • Mobilize women across generations to promote collaboration and avoid isolated efforts.
      • Host annual events like the Solidarity Festival to foster community, knowledge exchange, and empowerment.
    •

By mapping and connecting emerging leaders with trailblazers, the project will create a strategic mentorship network, fostering intergenerational collaboration and strengthening the feminist movement in Kenya.
