SRH AND LIFE SKILLS HOLIDAY SESSIONS

Holidays are normally a crucial time for teenage girls. The 2 months holiday makes it even more key, with teenage pregnancy reportedly high this year and the HIV new infection rate highest among AdolescenPolycom in partnership with UNFPA has successfully engaged up to 2000 girls from Kibera this holiday to equip them with SRH information as well as Life skill enabling them to make sound decisions regarding their body and life.

FREE COUNSELING AND TESTING

Theme of the day being “Know your Status”, People were invited for free guiding /counseling and HIV testing, this was to help them know their status and start their clinic to avoid the virus from damaging their health permanently, which is why early diagnosis is so important

01st December 2018 was the day when Polycom Development Project and 33 women living with disabilities joined the whole world to Rock the Ribbon! in Both the HIV/AIDS movement and the disability movement which are confronting stigma and discrimination of different kinds, considering the world disability day was on 3rd December

DIAR_ AWARDS National, Diversity and Inclusion Awards and Inclusion 2018
Polycom Development is one of the nominees for the DIAR_ AWARDS in the category of Diversity and Inclusion best collaborative approach community Organisation.
This is celebration of diversity. It will attract the participation of key decision makers and opinion leaders from government, the corporate world, civil society organizations, media, professional bodies, academia, international community and diversity and inclusion experts which gives us pride in the work we do in the community. The award is being given by Daima Trust Ltd which is a duly registered company limited by guarantee focused on four community-impact objectives namely: Basic Human Needs, Education, Youth Economic Empowerment and Unity in Diversity. The Trust under community-impact objective 4 is planning the National Diversity and Inclusion Awards & Recognition 2018 to be held at the Safari Park Hotel on Friday June 29, 2018. The DIAR awards is one of the 2018 flagship projects in line with the Trust’s Strategic Plan 2017 – 2027.
The goal is awarding peace, inclusion and equality champions who have embraced diversity as a tool of advancing their agenda.
