Leave No Woman Behind

SRH/Life Skill Forums

Adolescent girls and young women growing up in Urban informal settlements face many challenges. In partnership with, we offer these girls mentorship programs and ability to learn life skills. Each year the programme serves more than 6,000 girls aged 9-19, equipping them with skills to fight for their rights and to handle the challenges they face in their day to day lives.
The programme helps them discover their leadership capabilities and build their confidence. They are also enabled to make informed choices when it comes to their sexual reproductive health.

Many of these girls have found a safe space within the mentorship program and they are actively engaging in pivotal conversations. We envision a platform that contributes towards the development and growth of the girls mentally, physically and socially.

As we mentor the girl we also secure the dignity of the girl by providing free sanitary towels and panties to ensure that menstruation is not a barrier to their development and to keep them in school.

Polycom works with 50 schools in Kibera to reach out to adolescent girls through the life skills mentorship forums. The programme has recently been extended to include out of school girls and young women aged 16-25 years.

Every year we recruit fresh school leavers who are trained on psycho-social support to carry out counselling sessions and to conduct mentorship sessions within our partner schools.
